Implant-Supported Dentures
Our patients are very happy to learn about the benefits available to them from implant-supported dentures. The basic concept here is attaching a patient’s dentures to dental implants placed in the bone of the jaw. Dentures are then held in place securely and the patient is relieved of the slipping or shifting experienced with traditional dentures. There are few or no restrictions on what the patient can eat, unlike the number of restrictions with traditional dentures.

A Variety of Choices for Our Patients
We have several choices we can offer our patients so our first step is to discuss the options and work out which will work best for them.
Then we examine the health of the patient’s gums and soundness of the bone in upper and lower jaws. If stronger bone is needed for implants, we can complete a bone graft to make it more sturdy. At that point, we then place their implants.
We can offer implant-supported dentures that are removable or ones that are non-removable and can only be detached in our office for cleaning and maintenance.
With most of these options, upper dentures do not need to cover the palate, which many of our patients prefer because it feels more natural.
Digital Imaging Makes for a More Pleasant Process
Instead of requiring our patients to bite into a messy, gel-filled tray, we take digital impressions and send them to the lab. For our patients sensitive to gagging, this is a wonderful change. Should replacement dentures ever be needed, their information will remain on file, meaning that new dentures can be delivered in just a few days.
